Perpetual Vows

By perpetual profession, made in accordance with the directives of the Church, a woman religious declares publicly that she desires to give herself totally to God forever in the service of others according to the congregation’s charism.

Perpetual profession of the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience constitutes a radical commitment for life, which determines all subsequent choices.

In the liturgical celebration of perpetual profession, the Church receives our vows through the Superior General or her delegate and unites our oblation with the Eucharistic Sacrifice. (82.64)

Enabled to share in the offering of the Son to the Father, we welcome the effort and joy of serving Him alone, always among the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence. (82.65)
