About the House
Blessed Clare Nivas is the third house established by the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence in Bangalore. The property was purchased in instalments since 24th October 2001 from a devoted Catholic couple, Mr. Stan Sequeira and Mrs. Philomina Sequeira. On the same day, the key was handed over to Sr. Victoria William. Since then, the house has served as a Formation House for Postulants and Aspirants. Nestled within four acres of lush greenery filled with coconut, mango, and other fruit-bearing trees, the house is located in Geddalahalli.

The property was officially handed over to Sr. Victoria William, representing the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence, by Mr. Stan Sequeira. The house was blessed on October 24, 2001, the feast day of St. Louis Guanella, by Rev. Fr. A. John Bosco, in the presence of Rev. Fr. B. Paneer Raja, Sr. Erina Berzovini (Delegate Superior), Sr. Victoria William, and some of our sisters. Novices from the Servants of Charity (GPN) and special children from St. Joseph Nivas Special School also participated in the celebration. After the blessing, sweets were distributed to all attendees.

Formation Community
On 9th July 2002, a new community was officially established at Geddalahalli, Bangalore. The first members included Sr. Antoniammal Michael, Sr. Arockiam R., and a group of Aspirants: Janet, Jency, Jaya Jenifer, Lourdu Sagayam, Innaciammal, Pauline, Pushpa, Roseline, Selvi, and Vinitha Mary. The house was placed under the patronage and protection of Blessed Clara Bosatta and was dedicated as a Formation House for Postulants. Later, Sr. Victoria Arul joined the community as the Formator, and Sr. Antoniammal Michael was in charge.

Pastoral Work
From August 2002 to 2005, the Sisters, along with the Postulants, actively conducted catechism classes for children at St. Joseph Church in Lingarajapuram (a substation of Holy Ghost Church) and at St. Antony’s Church in D.J. Halli Parish.

Special School for Mentally Challenged Children
Recognizing the needs of children with disabilities in nearby villages the sisters conducted a survey and found many mentally challenged children being left unattended at home.

In response, on 17th January 2010, a Special School for the Mentally Challenged Children was inaugurated under the leadership of Sr. Emelda (Superior), along with Sr. P. Jancy Rani, Sr. Maria Claudia, and postulants Jaculine, Jenifer, Francy Nirmala, Pushpamma, and Saritha. The school was named “Blessed Clare Special School for the Mentally Challenged.” Over the years, many sisters have contributed to the growth and development of the school.
As the number of students grew, the available space became inadequate. Sr. Victoria William, the then Delegate Superior, along with Sr. Mary Chinnappan(Superior), worked to raise funds and initiate construction. With generous support from Mr. Jim and Mrs. Pam, a new school building was constructed within the same campus. The foundation stone was laid on 25th March 2019 and blessed by Rev. Fr. Gnanaraj, Sdc. The building was designed by Mr. T.G. Venu Gopal and constructed by Mr. Titus. On 22nd July 2022, the new building was blessed by Rev. Fr. Kulandai Samy,Sdc and the school was shifted to this facility, with Sr. M. Arockia Mary appointed as Principal.
Assistance to the Aged
Two to three times a year, elderly individuals from nearby areas are invited to celebrate major feasts such as Pongal, Christmas and Easter with the community. Throughout the year, the sisters and candidates make regular home visits, offering care, support, and assistance to meet the various needs of the elderly.
