Juniorate

The Novice at the end of the Novitiate professes vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, known as the Evangelical counsels.

Formation continues during this time of temporary vows as the sister strengthens her life of union with God and her sense of belonging to the institute. The sisters more fully participate in the mission of the community during these years of temporary vows. After a period of years, and a time of discernment, the sister professes the perpetual profession.

The Juniorate is the period in which the Daughter of St. Mary of Providence who has made her first profession, is committed to deepen her own maturation, integration, formation in view of perpetual profession.

It is a period of an important experience of the Guanellian religious life in a community that renders possible enrichment and a responsible exercise of the apostolic activities typical of the institute.

The formation has to be systematic, adapted to the capacity of the members, and to know the signs of the time that is required by the purpose and character of the institute.

The temporarily professed sister is called to discover their conditions for their personal progress and focus lot on their self –formation and to grow in the fidelity and perseverance in the spirit of the Congregation.

The role may vary according to their progress in each stage but their main responsibilities would remain unchangeable like….discernment of God’s action; accomplishment of the religious life in the ways of God; the nourishing with solid doctrines; practices of prayer.

At the end of the Juniorate, the religious freely asks to be admitted to perpetual profession.
